Rise in fire-related incidents
Amid a persistent heatwave in North India, Delhi Fire Services received over 220 calls within a 24-hour period on Wednesday, the highest number in the past decade. Fire department officials noted that this figure exceeds the call volume typically seen during last year’s Diwali. Most of these calls originated from West Delhi areas, including Narela, Bawana, and Burari.
